Beyond the Bottom : Run for Humanity — Endurance, Water, and Rethinking Nonprofit Funding

On this episode of Beyond the Bottom Line, Sean Littman sits down with Véronique Bourbeau, CEO and Founder of Run for Humanity, for a conversation about endurance, clean water, and creative nonprofit leadership.

Véronique’s journey into humanitarian work began long before founding her organization. From volunteering at age 12 to later working as a journalist in Senegal, she was confronted firsthand with the realities of inequity — including the stark difference between having access to clean water and not.

Run for Humanity was born at the intersection of two passions: humanitarian work and ultra-distance running. Véronique’s mission now centers on helping communities break the poverty cycle through access to water, agriculture, education, and the unifying power of running. Her long-term goal is bold: to become the first woman to run across Africa alongside communities to celebrate water and freedom.
